Bio
Katie Rink is a New York born, Philadelphia-based interdisciplinary artist with a background in printmaking, special effects and glassblowing. Her works evoke a spatial awareness that is inspired by the sensation of suddenly becoming mindful of one’s body, and the space it consumes, at times that may be inconvenient, like getting caught in the rain, or existing in a packed subway car. With a focus on bodily awareness she switches mediums to best describe the feeling of being alert. Her main body of work defines the world as she experiences it to be, how she feels things are around her, and how she imagines them to move through each other.
Katie Rink is in the process of receiving her BA in Visual Studies from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. She has participated in several group exhibitions in both Philadelphia and Rome. She also has work in the permanent digital collection at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
